MY ACTIVITIES

Society of Petroleum Engineers
The Society of Petroleum Engineers brings together students who share an interest in energy and petroleum engineering while providing opportunities to connect with industry professionals. I joined SPE to meet like-minded peers and begin building relationships within the field. One of my favorite experiences was participating in the SPE intramural volleyball team, where teamwork extended beyond academics and helped strengthen our sense of community within the major.
American Association of Drilling Engineers
AADE focuses on exposing students to the technical and practical aspects of drilling engineering while fostering strong connections with industry. I joined AADE to deepen my interest in drilling and to learn from professionals actively working in the field. Through this organization, I participated in the Noble Corporation Co-Innovation Challenge, where my team developed a concept addressing downhole instability in offshore drilling. This experience allowed me to see how classroom concepts translate into real engineering challenges and reinforced my interest in drilling innovation.

Women in Petroleum & Geosystem Engineering
Women in Petroleum Engineering is dedicated to supporting women in the petroleum engineering field by providing mentorship, resources, and a strong professional network. I joined WiPE to connect with others navigating similar academic and career paths and to gain guidance from those with industry experience. Through the SheConnects program, I was paired with an industry mentor who offered valuable advice on resumes, interviews, and understanding the energy industry. This mentorship has been an encouraging and grounding experience as I explore my future in engineering.
Meow Mates
Meow Mates is a student organization made up of passionate individuals working to improve the lives of cats both on and off campus. As someone who deeply cares about animals—especially cats—this organization immediately resonated with me. I participated in four Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) sessions, helping capture seven stray cats so they could be spayed or neutered and either safely returned or fostered for adoption. Being part of Meow Mates has been incredibly meaningful, as it allows me to contribute directly to giving cats a safer, healthier future and the chance to find permanent homes.

National Honor Society

During my senior year of high school, I served as president of the National Honor Society, which is dedicated to giving back to the community through service and leadership. At the time, our chapter had been relatively quiet, so I worked to revitalize its impact. With the support of my officers, I was able to plan and lead five mandatory club meetings with attendance rate of 80 percent and above for each. We later launched the Adopt a Junior program, pairing 12 juniors with senior mentors to assist with standardized test preparation. Throughout the year, I also coordinated and led 9 group volunteering events at the Rosenberg Railroad Museum, including a two-day project preparing for the museum’s annual Gala, strengthening our chapter’s presence and service within the community.
